Paper Abstract:      The purpose of this study is to design an Augmented Reality learning system for college students to support their service learning for elders in rural and remote communities, help them to use tablet to share their life experience of artifacts and discussion with college students, and evaluate their learning effectiveness. We use the ‘Moodle’ platform as the foundation to support the Augmented Reality learning system, and develop a U-learning function. The system provides a network aids and learning materials to students in both indoor and outdoor learning. There are 24 elders and 24 college students attend this study, and the t-test of one group pretest-posttest (t = -4.593, p .001) show that the Augmented Reality learning system combine with the interaction from college students can facilitate elders’ who live in rural and remote communities effectively. The Mean score, 3.15 (S.D. = .967) shows that the elders’ learning satisfaction is between “agree” to “very agree” in Likert 4 point scale. The conclusions of this study are including: (1) the augmented reality learning system that combines indoor and outdoor function can promote rural elders’ learning and interaction motivation with college students. (2) Using tablet and augmented reality learning system to learn the evolution of rural artifacts can promote elders’ learning effective significantly, and help them using the function of tablet fluently. (3) The augmented reality learning combine with college students’ service can promote elders’ learning satisfaction.
